Hi Patricia,

Thanks for checking back with me. I did receive your previous email, but I didn’t have a chance to reply yet. Greg and I had a great time, and the weather was fantastic! I can see why that’s one of the most popular resorts in that area. The restaurants did well dealing with my need for gluten free food. Sometimes they had a separate gluten free menu, and if not, they always offered to make me something special. Some of the restaurants even had gluten free bread, which was really nice. Greg and I both thought the food and drinks were pretty good.

When Housekeeping came in for Turn-Down Service, they left chocolates on the bed, which were delicious! They were also very accommodating when I asked for a room in a quieter area that was away from the pool. Technically we could see the ocean from the balcony, but I wouldn’t really consider the room we were in as “ocean view”. It was more like “courtyard view”. That was a little disappointing, but I preferred a quiet room over a better view of the ocean, so it worked out. It was also a great location, since the town of Playa del Carmen is right outside the resort and it’s safe to walk around the area.

We decided to go to Xplor and do one of the dolphin swims, both of which were really fun. We also went parasailing, but not through Best Day Travel. The Best Day rep at the hotel said it was 2.5hrs one way to Chichen Itza, so we opted not to go. The only really negative aspects were the fact that the Best Day rep at the hotel took way too long to book our trips (he talked a lot and seemed to have trouble getting the receipts to print), and the timeshare salespeople. I was really surprised that the ones in the airport have desks and ID badges that make them seem like they are there to provide info to visitors. We definitely wasted 15min before we realized that he was trying to get us to come to a timeshare presentation. Then when we got to the hotel, the first thing they do after checking you in is to try and convince you to come to their timeshare presentation. We were a little frustrated by that. The flights and transportation b/n the hotel and airport all went smoothly as well. We really enjoyed ourselves, so thank you so much for your help! Jan
