The Mayan Route: Guatemala, Belize, Mexico


Travel to the most important Mayan sites  in Guatemala, Belize and Mexico. You will embark upon your Mayan Route vacation from beautiful Lake Atitlan in Guatemala. There you will visit site considered to be the home of a Mayan God known as Maximon.

From Lake Atitlan you will travel to the Guatemalan colonial city of Antigua where you will visit the Maya Museum. The next day will be all about exploring Yaxha National Park and the ruins of Tikal.  You will fly into Flores where a private guide will take you on tour of the important Mayan sites.

The following day you will travel to the Cayo District in Belize. The Cayo area has numerous Mayan sites including Xunantunich and to Actun Tunichil Muknal. In addition to being rich in cultural sites, Belize is an adventure lovers country. While there you will partake in cave tubing and zipling.

Travel  to the North of Belize you can choose to visit the ruins of Lamanai  or just where you will relax for a couple of days before heading into Mexico. While in the area you will have the opportunity to enjoy hikes, canoeing, fishing, birding, and more.

Next you head into Mexico, where you will stay in Cancun, where you can choose to be escorted by a a private guide through the ruins at Chichen Itza. You will have ample time the following day to enjoy the beaches surrounding Cancun.
